HISTORY In 1958, Dr. Paul Green opened
his OB/Gyn office in Salisbury. In 1967, Dr. Joel Goodwin
joined Dr. Green. Together, in 1970, they formed Salisbury
Clinic for Women, P.A. Dr. Malcolm Parada joined the
group one year later, and Dr. Thomas Thurston, III came
to the practice in 1975. These physicians have since
retired. Dr. David Hall was added to the physician roster
of the clinic in 1980. In 1996, Drs. Lisa Grana and
James Murphy joined the practice and the name was changed
to Rowan OB/GYN Associates, P.A. to reflect the region
in which it serves. In 1998 Dr. Gayle Singleton-Yatawara
joined the practice and the group moved into new facilities
connecting to the hospital at 911 W. Henderson Street,
Suite 300, Salisbury, NC. In 2000, Dr. Jessica Blumenthal
and Dr. Helen Malone joined the practice bringing the
total number of physicians to six. The practice has
one nurse practitioner, Jill Young, FPN-C.
PRACTICE
PHILOSOPHY The doctors and staff of Carolina
Women's Health Associates are committed to providing
quality health care for ob/gyn patients in our care.
We value the trust our patients place in us and take
seriously the responsibility their confidence requires
of us as practitioners. We are committed to maintaining
a state-of-the-art medical practice by keeping up
to date on current information, procedures, equipment,
technology, and medical education. We recognize our
responsibility to the well-being of the community,
and contribute to that arena by speaking to civic
groups, participating in workshops, conferences, and
other community offerings. We are a professional family
and share equally responsibilities and benefits, including
pay and time off. The diversity of our educational
backgrounds and personalities bring multiple areas
of expertise to the practice.
