Your initial Obstetrical Visit is scheduled for two (2) hours. One hour will be conducted with a nurse and the second hour with one of our board certified physicians.
You should arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment.
After you check in at our front desk you will be escorted to our lab and asked to provide a urine sample and weight. You will then be introduced to one of our nurses who will spend the next hour with you. During this time you and the nurse will complete a health history and a pregnancy profile.
Once you and the nurse are completed, one of our insurance specialists will arrive to help you understand your benefits under your insurance plan.
Remember, there may be some portion of your care that may not be covered by your insurance plan. Carolina Women's Health Associates may accept your insurance, however we do not set the rates of which you may be responsible. Please contact your insurance company for specific questions about your plan.
Now it is time to meet your doctor! During your initial visit you will be given a complete exam, to include a pelvic exam, Pap smear and breast exam. You may or may not receive a sonogram on this day.
